GUMACA, Quezon - The Bisaya project in the provinces of Gumaca was courtesy of Unang Ginang and the 3rd District of Congw. Aleta Suarez for BISAYA MI Inc. group, coordinated by the Provincial Government led by Governor Danilo E. Suarerz, in cooperation with Mrs. Justine E. Letargo, President of BISAYA MI Inc., wife of Gumaca Mayor Webster Letargo.
A check was issued last August 11, 2020, for the BISAYA MI Fiber Glass Boat Making Project led by Congw. Aleta Suarez and Governor Danilo E. Suarez, where the check will be used to purchase motorboat engines and fishing paraphernalia for the training and manufacture of fiberglass boats. Women members of BISAYA MI are also among those who have undergone massage therapy training as part of the BISAYA MI program.
Also present at the said activity were Vice Governor Sam Nantes, Board Members Alona Obispo, Dhoray Tan, Jerry Talaga, Beth Sio, KALIPI-Quezon Chapter President Atty. Joanna Suarez, Gumaca-LGBTQ President Ayen Mercado, some Councilors and Brgy Captains from the said town.
In a statement by Congw. Suarez said she intends to partner with the provincial government to help her fellow Bisaya by employing to improve their livelihoods.
Governor Danilo E. Suarez also said that people should not be shy of approaching the provincial government and talking about the help or support needed from his office.
In an interview with BISAYA MI Inc. Gumaca President Justine Letargo urged other Bisayas in the Province not to be afraid to form their organization to develop themselves and their livelihoods in particular, and some Bisayas belong to the marginalized sector with great gratitude to the Quezon Provincial Government for the full support they have given to their organization.
Meanwhile, in addition to the check, the Provincial Government also provided 11 boat engines, 11 sets of nylon, 13 sets of fishing nets, 13 sets of floaters and sinkers, 1 box of epoxy and thinner, 13 styrofoam boxes and pails and 9 sets boat fittings for the BISAYA MI Inc. group Gumaca.
