GUMACA, Quezon - On 11 August, the Quezon Provincial Government officially opened the Southern Convention Center for COVID-19 in Gumaca, Quezon, as the Quezon Provincial Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (QPTTMF).

The Provincial Government, headed by Governor Danilo E. Suarez, together with Vice Governor Sam Nantes, 3rd District of Congw. Aleta Suarez, Board Members Dhora Tan, Alona Obispo, Beth Sio, Jerry Talaga and Dra. Grace Santiago, Dr. Sonny Ching and Dra. Ma. Theresa Abundo-Pepito is implementing initiatives and services in partnership with the Office of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) and the Department of Health ( DOH) to address the threat posed by COVID-19.





In a statement by Governor Danilo E. Suarez, he said the Quezon Provincial Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (QPTTMF) for COVID-19 would serve as a one-stop center for all the medical equipment required for that facility, where it already has 60 beds, X-ray machines.

"Ayaw kong mahirapan pa ang ating mga kababayan na nagpositibo sa COVID-19 na problemahin pa ang mga pupuntahan para magpagamot," governor said





According to the Integrated Provincial Health Office of the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Grace Santiago, people who have tested positive for COVID-19 but have no symptoms in hospitals should be brought here.

"Napupuno na ang mga pagamutan at isolation facility ng mga bayan sa Quezon dahil sa pagdami ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa ating lalawigan kung kaya sa temporary treatment and monitoring facility ilalagay ang mga taong nagpositibo sa COVID-19," Santiago said.





Gumaca Mayor Webter Letargo said that he is very grateful to the provincial government for the assistance, services and programs provided especially during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming launch of the MRI facility at Quezon Medical Center and the safety coupon accessible at private hospitals and pharmacies is part of the Provincial Government's plan to resolve health problems in the immediate future.

Besides the town of Gumaca, the other towns close the facility and will benefit the most from the towns of Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Calauag, Lopez, Gumaca, Plaridel, Perez, Quezon, Quezon and Alabat.
