BATANGAS CITY- The Batangas city government formally conducted the turn over of gadgets and school supplies to the Department of Education Schools Division of Batangas on August 19.
5th District Representative Marvey Marino and Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha led the ceremonial turn over to DepEd Superintendent Dr. Zaldy Bolanos will be in charge of distributing about 2,300 teachers and school heads who will receive laptops and 25,000 junior and senior high school students in public schools in the city.
Bags and envelopes containing school supplies such as notebooks, paper, pencils and ballpen for first to sixth grade students are also included.
According to Bolanos, the funds used for the project came from the special education fund of the Local School Board (LSB).
He said there is no reason for young people not to go to school because the city government and DepEd are working together to meet their needs.
Based on DepEd Order 007 s. 2020, classes will open in public schools on October 5, 2020 where it will not be face-to-face to protect the welfare and safety of children while there is no vaccine against COVID-19.
Gadgets and school supplies are a great help for young people especially parents who do not have the ability to buy them to use in online learning. Almost everyone is affected by the pandemic especially the livelihood of the majority.
Meanwhile, the schools will distribute the aforementioned materials to their teachers and students.
