BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas city government was awarded the 'Special Award for Local Government' during the virtual celebration of the 29th anniversary of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Calabarzon held at the National Head Quarters Conference Hall on August 27, 2020.
This is in recognition of all the support provided by the city government in safeguarding the welfare of persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the Batangas City Jail.
The theme of the festival is “Mahusay na Pamamahala ng Piitan, Matatag na Kabalikat sa Pampublikong Kaligtasan.”
Among the programs implemented by the city government is the allocation of P5.6M worth of annual budget for BJMP operations. Funds include rice and goods subsidy, office supplies, gasoline allocation for service vehicles, personnel allowance and logistic support for utility bills such as light and water.
The BJMP facility in the city has remained Covid-free since the implementation of community quarantine.
In this regard, Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha extended his greetings and gratitude through a video message.
