SAN NARCISO, Quezon – On September 17, 2020, Tuesday afternoon, Soldiers and police raided a hideout in Brgy Abuyon, San Narciso, Quezon.

After receiving reports of the NPA’s presence in the area, Soldiers from the 85th Infantry Battalion (85IB) and the San Narciso Municipal Police 85IB Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel, Emmanual Cabahug, who is supervising the military operations in the area said that the NPA’s were under Joseph Delos Santos alias Ken/Bilot, a former member of the Special Partisan Unit (SPARU) which he believed to be the mastermind of some communist in Quezon Province way back.

The military said all available assets have been placed on high alert.

According to Brigadier General Norwyn Romeo Tolentino, commander of the Philippine Army's 201st Infantry Brigade, there were no casualties on the part of the state forces while the casualty count among the NPAs are being validated.

Major General Greg Almerol, commander of the Philippine Army's 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, called upon the few remaining NPA terrorists "to turn your backs from armed struggle, surrender, live peacefully with your families, avail government grants through E-CLIP and be part of the solution to the problems that our country is facing because we are already mustering all our resources against any individual or group who continuously sow terror

Checkpoints have been established in the area by the joint AFP-PNP to support the ongoing pursuit operations against the escaping NPA terrorists.
