A congress employee, arrested for drugs



CAINTA, Rizal - A staff member of the congress was arrested after being caught with illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation at One Travelers Lodging Inn, Brgy. Sto Domingo, Cainta Rizal.

According to PLt. Col Rodolfo Santiago II, OIC of the Cainta Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Bernardo Taboada, driver and assigned to the Office of the House Speaker.



Taboada was found in possession of six sachets of suspected shabu, a bag with a cellphone, IDs, and buy-bust money worth P1,100.00.

He was charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act.



The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, or (Republic Act of the Philippines) R.A. No. 9165, is a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 1858 and House Bill No. 4433.
