BATANGAS CITY - The City Health Office (CHO) continues to carry out routine vaccinations for newborns of up to one-year-old children in the city during the pandemic, with the goal of protecting their health and preventing the spread of contagious diseases.
Vaccines provided include BCG and Hepa B for newborns, three doses of Pentavalent (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepa B, and Haemophilus Influenza), three doses of the oral polio vaccine, and two doses of 9-month measles to one-year-old baby.
Vaccination is carried out in barangay health centers where midwives and barangay health workers prepare to prevent competition. Health workers are in touch with parents to ensure that babies and children will be brought to the health center on the prescribed day of vaccination.
Health and safety protocols are strictly enforced in the centers to ensure that everybody is healthy with COVID19.
Cel Garcia, Nurse II National Immunization Program Coordinator CHO emphasized that the vaccine offered by the City Government Immunization Program is of high quality. He urged parents to vaccinate their children against disease.
