BATANGAS CITY - An online forum was held by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in celebration of Family Week with the theme "Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag at Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino,” on October 9.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) organized an online forum to celebrate Family Week with the theme "Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag in Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino" in October 9.

The purpose of this forum is to encourage every Batangueno family to have a strong organization during this pandemic.

According to CSWD Officer Mila Espanola, it is important for parents to track their children using the internet and social media specifically to remind them to be critical and vigilant when posting, interacting and exchanging personal details.

“Mahalaga na kumustahin ang bawat isang miyembro ng pamilya dahil ang mga bata at nakatatanda ay maaring makaranas ng stress, takot, pangamba at pagkabalisa dulot ng pandemya,” Espanola said.

He added that they should be allowed to express their thoughts and grievances.

Daisy Garcia, SWO III, served as a resource speaker, sharing a new Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) curriculum that is a huge challenge for parents because they will be their partners in educating children.

Charity Nunez, SWO IV addresses Adolescent-Sexuality and Family Issues that young people sometimes go through and how to stop them.

Espanola advises to direct children in their studies, engage them in household tasks, eat together and have fun with the family to maintain healthy family relationships.

Approximately 50 KALIPI Presidents from different barangays attended the forum. (PIO Batangas City)
