LUCENA CITY - The Budget department funded the "New Lucena Welcome Circle" worth P15 million for the tourism aspect.

The circle was in the intersection of Eco-Tourism road in barangay Isabang. Led by Mayor Roderick Dondon Alcala, the project also includes the infrastructures, agriculture, education and social services.

Moreover, this month the local government of Lucena also started the "Lucena City Promenade" which aim to grow the economy through tourism.

The construction of the 𝗟ucena City Promenade along the Heroes' Lane at Bonifacio Drive in Pleasantville Subd., Brgy. Ilayang Iyam will commence today, 19 October 2020.

The 16.9M Promenade is funded by LGSF-AC thru the initiative of Lucena City Mayor Roderick "Dondon" A. Alcala, to be implemented by the Office of the City Engineer.

The City Promenade is the latest addition to the attractions and destinations being promoted by the Office of the City Tourism.

On top of the promenade project will be photowall booth, multi-purpose stage and heroes monuments.

The project will be led by City Engineering’s Office and City Tourism Office.

𝗟ucena City Baywalk in Brgy. Talao-Talao is soon to be another tourist attraction.

The future Baywalk is one of the proposed destinations included in the Tourism Development Plan of Lucena City. The project aims to promote sustainable and responsible tourism and to offer an equally attractive destination to domestic and foreign visitors.

MayorAlcala envisions to enhance and strengthen the tourism industry in the City, extending full support to the plans and programs of The Office of the City Tourism.

Meanwhile, a total of 236 families previously living in danger zones in Lucena City, Quezon Province officially moved into their own safe and decent homes recently, a very timely development amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each member will occupy a 33.3-square meter unit with room for a loft and will make an average monthly amortization of P3,118.90.

The fruition of the P105.6-million project came almost a year after Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) President Arnolfo Ricardo Cabling and Alcala led the groundbreaking in a 1.4-hectare property in Barangay Mayao Crossing that was purchased by the agency in 2016.

SHFC is the lead agency assisting underprivileged communities in securing land tenure through shelter financing and development solutions by Building Adequate, Livable, Affordable, and Inclusive Filipino communities.
