PAGSANJAN, Laguna – Some five microentrepreneurs, including four doormat makers and one sari-sari store owner, in Barangay Cabanbanan here received livelihood packages from the Department of Trade Industry (DTI) - Laguna Provincial Office last September 28, as part of its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program.
Each beneficiary received around five thousand pesos worth of grocery items and assorted fabrics, which they can use to jumpstart their businesses.
The beneficiaries, who were affected by the coronavirus pandemic, have earlier received various services from the Negosyo Center, such as business name registration and business consultancy and advocacy.
In her message, DTI-Laguna Chief Trade and Industry Development Specialist Marcelina Alcantara encouraged the local entrepreneurs to sustain their businesses despite their current challenges.
The PPG program aims to equip current and aspiring entrepreneurs affected by calamities with business skills through extensive information campaigns, training and provision and livelihood kits.
To date, DTI-Laguna has already given livelihood kits to 72 selected MSMEs. (PTB with reports from DTI)
