Pedal For a Cause held in Laguna
Pedal for a Cause.

Gob. Ramil L. Hernandez recently held a “Pedal for a Cause” program in this city under the slogan "One Day, One Emphasis, End of Polio" to help eradicate this disease.

Spearheaded by Gov. Ramil, some 150 cyclists have traveled seven kilometers from the Carmelray Industrial Park to the Nuvali Main Road. This involves those who are passionate about trampling and interested in helping others. One of the Governor's advocacies is the health program.

Pedal for a Cause is a Rotary Club project in collaboration with other clubs in Area 1 Group 5 of District 3820. The funds will go to the End Polio Now Fund.

End Polio Now helps fund the community-based health workers, transportation, and materials needed in the fight against polio.

Rotary launched the global fight against polio in 1985 and since then has helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children.

The number of polio cases worldwide has decreased from 350,000 in 1988 to less than 425 cases in 2014.
As a part of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative with UNICEF, the World Health Organization, CDC, and the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation -- we are this close to ending polio.

The Rotary Club is active in helping especially now recognizing World Polio Day every October.

Also in attendance were members of the Rotary Club and colleagues of Gov. Ramil in the Laguna provincial government.
