BATANGAS CITY - The Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Batangas has already approved Ordinance No. 28 Series 2020 entitled “An Ordinance Waiving the Market Rental Fees of Stall Holders Engaged in the Business of Selling Non-essential Products in the Public Market from September 1 to December 31.
The ordinance stipulates that vendors in Market 1, 2, and 3 will not pay rent, in particular, those goods that are non-essential such as in the party needs section, souvenirs, toys, clothing, shoes, glassware, native products, and others starting September until December of this year.
Even stall owners who are senior citizens will not be charged as they are not able to open their store during the community quarantine period as it is prohibited in accordance with the order of the Inter-Agency Task Force.
The ordinance aims to reduce the concern and ease the fees of stallholders affected by the pandemic.
It was written by Councilor Alyssa Cruz, Councilor Gerry Dela Roca, and Coun. Oliver Macatangay at the request of Mayor Beverley Rose Abaya Dimacuha.
