BATANGAS CITY - One of Mayor Beverley Dimacuha's priority projects is the Early Childhood Care and Development Program implemented by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
In this time of the pandemic, classes are not face-to-face for safety precautions.
In this regard, CSWDO conducted the second round of virtual betting for approximately 100 child development workers in the city to discuss some of the programs to be implemented for the welfare of children.
Lorena Rosales served as the resource speaker of the Tingga Itaas Child Development Center (CDC) where she discussed the Center Based Program in Alternative Venue (CBPAV) which they will use in teaching children.
Liezel Villanueva of DSWD Region IV-A gave an update on DSWD Region IV-A programs such as the supplementary feeding program.
According to CSWD Officer Mila Espanola, implementing ECCD programs during this pandemic is a big challenge for them.
Some of these are child protection, health care, and social services and parent mentoring. Jasmin De Castro, CDW president, said the important role of parents.
“A good education begins at home, tayong mga magulang ang unang guro ng ating mga anak, kung ano ang ating itinuturo sa kanila ay madadala nila hanggang sa pagtanda” De Castro said.
