| Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo warns public not to give money to individuals soliciting funds to finance activities for his upcoming retirement and using the name of the regional office to seek financial assistance to fund health programs. |
DOH-CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo today warned the public on the ongoing fraudulent solicitation and misrepresentation being done by some individuals or group of individuals using his name and posing as employees of the regional office to extort money for their personal profit.
“We have received numerous reports from suppliers, contractors and other concerned offices that there are individuals claiming to be employees of the region and using my name soliciting funds to finance activities and events for my upcoming retirement and for sponsoring programs/projects of the regional office.”
“I NEVER ORDERED ANY SOLICITATION OF WHATSOEVER NOR WILL I ALLOW SUCH IMPRUDENT ACT OF IMPROPRIETY for any individual or entity, within and outside the office on my behalf,” he strongly stated.
“My office continuous to received reports of this scam being perpetrated by some individuals. Hindi pa rin po sila tumitigil at patuloy pa rin sa kanilang kabulastugan. Sa sinumang makaengkuwentro ng ganitong gawain ay huwag po kayong maniniwala, huwag magtitiwala at importante sa lahat huwag na huwag po kayong magbibigay ng kahit anumang pera o tulong. Ipagbigay alam agad sa aming tanggapan.”
Janairo added that the culprits are soliciting and using the word “donation” on his behalf.
In October 5, 2020, the regional office issued CHD Advisory No. 2020-43 for the same reason.
“We have coordinated with the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation to identify the personalities behind this scam and we will surely make them liable,” he accentuated.
