Missing man in Atimonan found dead in San Isidro Bridge

ATIMONAN, Quezon - A 56-year-old man reported missing in Brgy. San Isidro was found dead in Atimonan, Quezon, on November 14, 2020, near the San Isidro bridge.

Mario Francisco, 56 years old a resident of Maligaya Uno, Brgy. San Isidro Atimonan, Quezon was found after it was swept away by strong currents caused by Typhoon Ulysses on Thursday, November 12, 2020.



The debris was discovered floating in the waters off near the San Isidro Bridge after a search and rescue operation conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Atimonan MPS, Bureau of Fire Protection, the Philippine Coast Guard, and Community Volunteers.

Authorities conducted a search and retrieval operation to find Francisco on November 13, 2020, at the height of Typhoon Ulysses.



According to the report, he was last seen picking coconuts in the river near the San Isidro bridge and was allegedly carried away by a strong current of water.

The town of Atimonan has been in action before and during Typhoon Ulysses. The council held a meeting led by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) and Municipal Administrator EnP John Francis L. Luzano, MPA.
