SANTA CRUZ, Laguna - The new Laguna Provincial Library (LPL) located at P. Guevara St. Barangay Poblacion Uno in Santa Cruz just opens recently. It took them up to 65 years before they were given another building that was bigger, faster to find and visit.
The former LPL is in the compound of Pedro Guevara Memorial National High School and has now been given the opportunity to be relocated closer to the provincial capital.
Governor Ramil L. Hernandez is very supportive of the education program and the book of knowledge, where the provincial library serves as a house of wisdom, with the aim of providing accurate information tailored to the needs and well-being of its readers. .
Its vision is to be the center of accurate sources of knowledge in the community. It contains up to 12,704 books with 14,362 serials, 1174 non-book materials, and 28, 125 information files.
It will be recalled that their website http://library.laguna.gov.ph was also recently launched with the Web Online Public Access Catalog (WebOPAC) where the information requested by Lagunenseng readers can be found more quickly. This website was launched to provide an opportunity to use their online service in the middle of the pandemic.
The provincial library is headed by Mrs. Justina Garcia with 12 staff who are willing to help Lagunenses who visit the library.
Encouraged Gov. Hernandez's habit of reading because reading does not end with wisdom but there are many more things to learn and discover new and useful things.
