SAN PABLO CITY - The Philippine Moral Transformation (PMT) 2020 program was launched in this city on 13 November by Ferdinand Malabed, Director of Operations at the Office of Presidential Advisor for Religious Affairs (OPARA).
The gathering was attended by pastors of various denominations of the faith established in the city and nearby municipalities under the leadership of Pastor Rico D. Albaño who was appointed OPARA City Director for San Pablo City.
In a message sent by Presidential Adviser Grepor "Butch" B. Belgica, he said that the PMT 2020 program is in line with President Rodrigo R. Duterte's advocacy of the 2019 State of the Nation Address, in which the President invites the fathers of the home to make every home worship and to lead the home prayer.
"Nasa kaisipan ng Pangulo na dapat ay “Bawat Pamilya May Kapilya.” Dahil sa naisin ni Pangulong Duterte na malagay ang Dios sa puso at isipan ng mga pinunong bayan at mga lider pamayanan, at sa mga ama ng tahanan upang tahakin ang matuwid na pamumuhay," Belgica added.
The launch included the signing of the agreement by the participants and the swearing in of the assigned guides, "Gabay ng Bayan, Gabay sa Barangay," in which they recognized and remembered the duty that the guide had to carry out before Mayor Loreto S. Amante.
The appointed guides will voluntarily make visits to their distressed neighbors to be advised and reminded to take God to their hearts so that they can be confident that God will answer their prayers.
The initiative will also allow local governments to promote intervention by the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) and the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), which will significantly help the government's anti-drug drive to succeed.
The introduction of the PMT 2020 program at Mayor Vicente Amante-Type Stadium, San Pablo Central School, was sponsored by Mayor Loreto S. Amante, Deputy Mayor Justin G. Colago, Sangguniang Panlunsod and the Barangays League in the City of San Pablo. (with report from Ruben Taningco)
