LUCENA CITY - The Quezon province brought the government services to repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) the "Quezon Balikbayanihan, OWWA One-Stop Shop."
The Quezon public information office (QPIO) said that the program was led by Rep. David "Jay-jay" Suarez of the 2nd district, Rep. Aleta Suarez of the 3rd district and Alona Partylist which bring the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Overseas Workers Welfare Agency (OWWA) for the OFWs.
There are 794 OFWs attendees and OWWA Administrator Hans Cacdac and Quezon DOLE PD Edwin Hernandez shared the benefits of the program.
In August, the provincial government's Committe on Migration and Development (PCMD) and the Provincial Gender and Development (PGAD) office also brought the services to repatriated OFWs thru "Quezon Balikbayanihan OFW Serbisyo Caravan."
Committee member agencies rendered services such as guidance and counselling services, livelihood programs, financial literacy programs, and sensitivity trainings among others to OFW beneficiaries.
Moreover, Mayor Celso Oliver Dator of Lucban thanked the provincial government and representatives of PCMD member agencies for the free services provided to his contituents particularly the repatriated OFWs.
PGAD Head Geoff San Augustin also expressed his appreciation for the free services.
"This is one way of giving another opportunity to our repatriated OFWs to have other livelihood while in the province facing the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
Besides spearheading the caravan, the PCMD also administered free influenza vaccine immunization to beneficiaries and employees of the municipal government of Lucban.
