BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas Provincial Government has expressed its deepest gratitude to the members of the Batangas Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 for its programs that have resulted in the continued downward trend of new corona virus cases in the last three months of the year 2020 in the province.
At a meeting held by the Batangas IATF on December 7, 2020, Batangas Governor and IATF Chairperson Hermilando “DoDo” Mandanas welcomed the release of what he said were “encouraging figures and data” stating a decrease in COVID-19 cases in Batangas.
According to a report by the Department of Health (DOH) - CALABARZON Center for Health Development, headed by Dr. Paula Paz M. Sydiongco, the province of Batangas is one of those who shows the consistent downward trend of the COVID-19 case in Region 4-A.
Regarding Batangas' stay at GCQ, Dr. clarified Sydionco said that this step will be linked to Batangas' ongoing conduct of calamity relief operations since January, in conjunction with the action of the COVID-19 pandemic, so it is said to be just a precautionary measure to better maintain order in the face of continuing to respond to such events.
In this regard, it reminded of the ongoing implementation of the BIDA campaign by the National Inter-Agency Task Force and DOH throughout the province this December, when it is expected that there will be celebrations due to the Christmas celebration.
The members of the Batangas IATF also emphasized the need to adhere to the public's adherence to the prescribed health protocols, specifically following the Cleansing, Avoidance and Mask (HIM) mandating the public to wash their hands, social distancing, and wearing face shield and mask when in crowded places.
Gov. Mandanas give directions to the relevant offices will be trained to expedite the process of projects to be implemented for the year 2021, which includes improving the quality of service of all districts and provincial hospitals, construction of the Level 2 medical facility Batangas Provincial Medical Center in Tuy Town , continued implementation of the no home quarantine policy under OPLAN protection, and purchase of appropriate equipment to meet the needs of frontliners.
