BATANGAS CITY - The Eto Batangueno Disciplinary Monitoring Team has raided and warned restaurants, cafeterias and other establishments in the city after finding violations of the city's health and safety protocols and ordinances related to COVID-19.
According to EBDMT Leader Armando Lazarte, the number of customers inside the said establishments is more than 50 percent of the venue capacity, contrary to the stated policy of the Inter Agency Task Force on COVID-19 and the rule issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Some of the violations found were the tight arrangement of tables, loud music even in the middle of the night and the removal of customers' face masks even before eating.
Lazarte said that one by one they explained to the management of the establishment their violation and what are the appropriate steps to be taken to prevent it from happening again and also to avoid recommending to the City Legal Office the appropriate action.
In this regard, Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha called for stricter enforcement of compliance with minimum health and safety protocols as the movement of people and business establishments gradually eases to prevent an increase in the number of active COVID cases. -19 in the city.
