67 BPPO policemen undergo water search and rescue training

BATANGAS CITY - All 67 policemen from the Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) recently underwent Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training.

The activity was co-sponsored by BPPO, Philippine Red Cross-Batangas Chapter and Soroptimist International Batangas Downtown.

Police underwent six days of training on proper preparation for the use of the rubber boat, engine operation, proper driving, rescue, and how to board the rescued rubber boat as well as how to navigate and maneuver.

The PRC-Batangas Chapter's training was highlighted and emphasized in the training scenario of the rescue scenario while considering the safety of the rescuer.

Batangas Provincial Director PCol. Rex Arvin Malimban said that such training is a big help, especially to their ranks due to the strong typhoons that tested the province of Batangas in recent months.

“Ang ating kapulisan ay nakahandang palagiang maglingkod at tumulong, anumang panahon o pagkakataon, kaya’t mas maganda na may sapat silang kaalaman para sa ganitong mga senaryo upang makatulong sa pagliligtas ng buhay," Malimban said. (with report from PIO Batangas City)
