Active COVID-19 cases in Batangas down to 363

BATANGAS CITY – The number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Batangas province has gone down to 363 as more patients recovered from the disease, a report from the Batangas Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.

In its official COVID-19 bulletin issued Tuesday, January 19, the Batangas PHO reported 38 new patients who recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 11,346 out of the 12,077 total confirmed cases. This enabled the province to post a recovery rate of 93.94 percent.



The Batangas PHO also reported a total of 368 COVID-related deaths.

These figures brought the overtally of active cases down to 363. According to the Batangas PHO, 180 of the active cases are mild, 179 are aysmptomatic, 3 are servere, and one patient is in critical condition.



COVID-free localities
The same report also showed that a total of 8 out of 34 localities in Batangas province had no longer cases of the COVID-19 infection.

These are the municipalities of Agoncillo, Balayan, Balete, San Nicolas, Santa Teresita, Taal, Tingloy, and Tuy.



Local officials from the different cities and municipalities in Batangas have been continuously urging its constituents to observe and strictly follow minimum health standards such as physical distancing and use of face mask and face shield to prevent the spread of the disease.

The province has been placed under modified general community quarantine until January 31. (with reports from Batangas PHO)
