BATANGAS CITY - In this era of pandemics, hand washing is an effective way to prevent COVID-19 and its spread.
That is why only in April last year, the Batangas city government installed handwashing stations with antibacterial liquid soap in various offices, agencies, and strategic areas.
This is to encourage people to wash their hands which is the first step to avoid the virus.
People often touch their eyes, nose, and mouth without realizing it.
Viruses and germs can enter the body through the above-mentioned causes of disease so it is advisable to wash your hands before, during, and after preparing cooked food, before eating, before and after exposing the sick person, after bathing especially after sneezing, breathing, or coughing.
Handwashing stations are located in front of City Hall, in front of the City Administrator’s Office, in front of the Batangas City PNP, Plaza Mabini as well as in the old and new markets.
The handwashing station is under the supervision of the General Services Department and City Environment Office.
Ordinance No. 6 S 2020 the requirement to place handwashing stations in private establishments such as malls and supermarkets.
Hand washing encourages everyone to do it properly and correctly.
It is important to soap your hand for 20 seconds or more which is equivalent to singing “Happy birthday” twice and then rinsing.
Then, wipe thoroughly and dry the hand. Hand hygiene should be practiced as it is important in our daily precautions against COVID-19.
