BATANGAS CITY - The Department of Agriculture (DA) awarded the Batangas City government for its efficient and effective implementation of the said department's programs in the city, January 23.

DA Secretary William Dar personally addressed the Office of the City Veterinarian and Agricultural Services (OCVAS) Head Dr. Macario Hornilla and OIC-Asst. City Agriculturist Flor Alvarez as the representatives of Mayor Beverley Dimacuha the certificate of award.



The award includes more than P3.6 million worth of agricultural projects and programs to be implemented by the DA in Batangas City.

These include livestock, corn, and high-value crop development programs.



According to Dr. Hornilla, the city has achieved great an honor because only a few local governments in CALABARZON have been given such an award.

"Malaking tulong ang halaga ng proyektong ipagkakaloob ng DA upang manatiling matatag ang sektor ng agrikultura sa lungsod ngayong panahon ng pandemya," added Homilla.
