CAINTA, Rizal - Cainta, Rizal Mayor Kit Nieto has already signed an agreement with a British-Swedish Multinational Pharmaceutical Bio-Chemical AstraZeneca to get the vaccine against COVID-19.

According to United Kingdom Government official website, COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca is a vaccine used to protect people aged 18 years and older against COVID-19.

AstraZeneca stimulates the body’s natural defenses (immune system). It causes the body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the virus. This will help to protect you against COVID-19 in the future. None of the ingredients in this vaccine can cause COVID-19.

They also said that AstraZeneca may not protect everyone who is vaccinated from COVID-19. It is not yet known how long people who receive the vaccine will be protected. No data are currently available in individuals with a weakened immune system or who are taking chronic treatment that suppresses or prevents immune responses.

Apart from AstraZeneca, the Cainta Local Government is also in talks with other vaccine makers based in China.

Meanwhile, the Cainta LGU is ensuring that the residents of Cainta, Rizal will have an adequate supply of vaccines against COVID-19.
