BATANGAS CITY - A simple motorcade in honor of the Patron Sto. Niño was conducted by the Batangas City government on the main streets of the Poblacion and neighboring barangays on January 7.
This year, there is no routine fluvial procession held on the Calumpang River as part of its January 16 festival.
This is in compliance with the provisions of Executive Order No. 50 s. 2020 by Mayor Beverley Dimacuha that only activities should be limited to the celebration of the City Festival as a precaution against COVID-19.

After the motorcade was the novena prayer and mass was held at the Basilica of Immaculada Conception attended by Mayor Beverley Dimacuha and Congressman Marvey Marino.
A holy mass also is held on the very day of the Feast, the 16th of January.
Meanwhile, the local government reiterates that it is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol in the city on January 15, 16, and 17.
Mayor Dimacuha instructed all barangay officials to implement the said EO and conduct monitoring for the strict implementation of health and safety protocols in their respective barangays.
The city government hopes that everyone will come together to thank and honor Sto Nino Jesus who continues to bless Batangas City with peace, prosperity, and development.
