Over 300K worth of confiscated illegal firecrackers, soaked in ceremonial disposal of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic materials


Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) headed by PCOL SERAFIN F PETALIO II, Provincial Director, together with personnel of the PNP Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) soaked in water the confiscated illegal firecrackers worth three hundred seventy-one thousand one hundred ninety pesos (PhP 371,190.00) in a ceremonial disposal of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic materials worth three hundred seventy-one thousand one hundred ninety pesos (PhP 371,190.00) on December 31, 2020, at Camp BGen Paciano Rizal in Bagumbayan, Sta Cruz, Laguna.

These firecrackers were confiscated in Laguna PPO’s three-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) conducted Provincewide on December 29 to 31, 2020, for ‘Ligtas Paskuhan 2020’.



These include fifty-two (52) bundles of kwitis, five hundred seventy-nine (579) pieces of assorted sizes of fountains and fireworks, one (1) sack of fountain, one thousand two hundred sixty-nine (1269) assorted sizes of Luces, sixty-two (62) pieces judas belt, one (1) piece of boga, four (4) pieces of giant trumpilyo, two (2) pieces of whiski, fourteen (14) boxes of pop up, forty-three (43) boxes of five star, forty-one (41) boxes of piccolo, two hundred forty (240) boxes of whistle bomb, one hundred (100) pieces of roman candle sticks, one thousand one hundred seventy (1,170) pieces of sparklers, eight hundred seventy-one (871) boxes of baby rockets, twenty-nine (29) pieces red crackers, twenty-three (23) pieces of dragon egg thunders, fourteen (14) pieces of tong cailei flute, one hundred forty-four (144) pieces of dragon egg, sixty (60) pieces of meteor sky, thirty (30) pieces of happy balls, and three (3) pieces of starter strings. Of these, the firecrackers worth three hundred thousand pesos (PhP 300,000.00) were confiscated by Cabuyao City Police Station (CPS). The rest were confiscated by San Pedro, Calamba, Cabuyao, Sta Rosa, and Binan CPS and Sta Cruz, Pagsanjan, Lumban, Mabitac, Siniloan, Famy, Sta Maria Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Moreover, Lumban MPS apprehended the owner of illegal firecrackers being sold at Lumban Public Market in implementation of the existing Municipal Ordinance No 09 series of 2017, an ordinance enacting the prohibition of selling, giving, or sharing of any type of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices to minor within the territorial jurisdiction of Lumban, Laguna. The suspect was subject to undergo a seminar under the Municipal Ordinance for the first offense.



PCOL PETALIO II said that Laguna PNP is continuously conducting operations against prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in implementation of the Executive Order (EO) 28 (Providing for the Regulation and Control of the Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices) in relation to R.A 7183 (An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distribution and Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices) in the Province.

Laguna PNP also intensified patrolling and monitoring of indiscriminate firing during the New Year’s Eve.



No incidents on stray bullets, illegal discharge of firearms, and fire incidents due to firecrackers were recorded.

Likewise, operations on IATF guidelines will be continuously conducted to apprehend violators on the IATF guidelines such prohibition of mass gatherings, non-wearing of protective equipment (face mask and face shield), and observance of physical distancing to avoid the spread of the corona virus.
