LUCENA CITY - Lucena City-based talent agency recieved an outstanding award from Gawad Sining Festival over the weekend.

The Arts, Entertainment and Events (AEE) received the Most Outstanding Talent Management of the Year.



"Thank you very much Gawad Sining for this award: Most Outstanding Talent Management of the Year," Darwin Avila, managing director of AEE said on his Facebook posts.

"To all who greeted me, to all the people in Quezon, this award is for you," Avila added.



However, we have to accept the fact that we can no longer enjoy film festivals because of the restrictions and all. But this must not stop us from supporting the artistry of our local filmmakers.

Last year, Gawad Sining Short Film Festival announced its comeback through digital means.



Before the pandemic, this is a yearly event with a one-week full-house screenings (and awards night) at the Cine Adarna of UP Film Institute.

Its festival director Onin Estrella is a Filipino film director who started the great tradition.

Indeed, the organizers still aim to uplift and inspire the young (and young at heart) filmmakers by showcasing their craft through this short film competition. The theme focuses on LGBTQ stories of any genre. This includes romance, boys love, drama, comedy, action, suspense, and thriller.

The Gawad Sining Awards was held virtualy, on January 15, 2021.

The jury consists of Estrella, award-winning independent filmmaker Jay Altajeros, and multiawarded businessman, actor, producer, and philanthropist RS Francisco.
