REAL, Quezon - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed another P50 Million road construction and improvement project along the ongoing Mauban-Tignoan Road in Real, Quezon Province.
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that a 660-meter road portion was completed by DPWH Quezon 1st District Engineering Office that forms part of a 4.55-kilometer Mauban-Tignoan Missing Link Road Project in Real Quezon.
The completed project funded under 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA) involves the construction of a 2-lane road with slope protection and drainage system.
Previously constructed by the DPWH Quezon 1st DEO include: the 1.05-kilometer 2-lane road section of Mauban-Tignoan Missing Link Road Project under 2015 GAA; 148-meter, 2-lane road section under 2017 GAA; and 112-meter, 2-lane road section in Barangay Masikip under 2018 GAA. Its remaining section up to the Real-Mauban Municipal Boundary will be proposed in 2022 GAA.
“Mauban-Tignoan Road in Real, Quezon is vital road that will be part of a bigger project dubbed Luzon Pacific Highway which will connect Bicol Region and Central Luzon, passing through the coastal municipalities of Quezon Province in CALABARZON,” said Secretary Villar.
“The realization of this road will facilitate better interconnectivity between south and central Luzon while providing a scenic alternative route to motorists that will eventually lead to the tourism and economic progress in areas traversed by the road,” added Secretary Villar.
