The Filipino young artist who is based in San Joaquin Iloilo, gave us a new lens into his formless realm of possibilities in visual storytelling, more from that is the venture toward his craft in digital manipulation.
The artist makes us redefine the things we look for the word “beauty” in colliding it with a bizarre, unworldly, un-figurative creatures yet able to have a touch of the warmness in a thick Filipino color tone.
The ideal goal is to not be defined with a limiting filter but to convey emotions that are hard to mumble. Spicing the mundane of being fearful ‘why don't we put some glamour’ I must say, kudos to the work of Range Guillema for these alluring visions.
The story started with an experiment with a hand. “I remember dismembering both arms to redefine its function, to not just move, or hold, or reach for something and anything you can imagine,” he said. “I do this art not to be labeled as ‘different’ or be specific or be put in a certain category. For me, It’s more of storytelling each artwork perceived human feelings that words can’t translate or decipher,” he says.
