Lemery promotes shaping the true mandate of SK

BATANGAS CITY - One of the initiatives of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in the town of Lemery is to understand its mandate to the youth.

In a Network Briefing News led by Presidential Communications Operations Secretary (PCOO) Martin Andanar, SK President and current Executive Director of Kabataang Lingkod Bayan Hannah Beatriz Cabral said the organization wants to harmonize the youth appointed and elected to government as well as active youth leaders.

“Sa pamamagitan ng pagiging miyembro ng SK alinsabay ng pagiging presidente ng Lemery Municipal Youth Development Council, nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na mas ma-engganyo o ma-empower ang ibang kabataan na makiisa sa iba’t-ibang mga youth organizations,” Cabral said.

He added that young people are more aware of the modern SK besides conducting leagues and holding beauty pageants.

Cabral stressed that the youth should be better informed about the mandate of the SK law, especially to show them more what the Philippine Youth Development Council is so that what the youth councils can do is in line with the national plan.

The town of Lemery is promoting the existence of a youth space with two divisions. The first is about education, helping with printing on new normal activities of students and one is about having space for young people who want to have a business.

This includes out-of-school youths and persons with disabilities where they will be taught to craft various local Lemery products and will be forced to help market it so that they can also help those who want to make money.

It can be considered a two-way because young people have gained new knowledge and can also help them to have sales so that they do not just hang out at home.

He added that they want to intensify the burning desire of the youth to be patriotic in what they have and can be proud of in the town of Lemery.

Cabral finally reminded that although the youths in their town experienced many trials from the eruption of Taal Volcano until the arrival of the pandemic caused by COVID 19, he again reminded them to continue to fight the challenge of life because any state does not it can be considered the end because there is still a lot to do for oneself, in the barangay or in the town.
