TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - The Rural Health Unit of the municipality of Tanza reported an increase in incidents of reinfection of the COVID-19 cases recorded recently.
According to the latest data from the RHU, there were six (6) reinfections recorded this week in which four (4) are health workers, one (1) PNP personnel, and one (1) lock-up case. Last week, there were three (3) patients who were found positive of the COVID-19, they were previously been reported among the confirmed cases in the municipality.
Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ruth Punzalan stated in an interview last week that recovering from the disease does not make one immune from infection.
RHU officials were alarmed with the developments of an increase in the number of reinfections.
"Tayo po ay talagang... seryosohin natin itong preventive precaution na 'to. Isipin po natin lahat na ang ating kaharap ay may dalang COVID-19 virus," Dr. Punzalan reiterated.
(Let's really take this preventive precaution seriously. Let us all think that all people we meet are carriers of the COVID-19 virus.)
Data collected from contact tracing showed that 50% of transmissions came from the workplace, those who travel, and exposure to close contacts of positive patients with most of the positive cases are asymptomatic which makes them more dangerous because they do not have any idea that they are infective and are considered super spreaders.
Officials of the local government of Tanza thru the health authorities in the RHU continuously reminded everyone to follow the minimum health standards particularly the mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield especially in public places. (Ruel Francisco/Balitang Tanzeño)
