BATANGAS CITY - 101 medical frontliners from the Don Manuel Lopez Memorial District Hospital in Balayan town were given COVID-19 vaccines on March 15.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) spearheaded the vaccine roll-out to the medical frontliners of such hospital who received the Astra Zeneca vaccine.
The first to receive the vaccine was the Chief of Hospital Dr. Maureen Villanueva.
According to Dr. Villanueva, there are seven (7) steps that everyone who will undergo the vaccine will go through including pre-registration, registration, screening, counseling, vaccination, post-vaccination and validation.
This process is part of the Department of Health’s (DOH) micro-planning.
Dr. added. Villanueva that the frontliners who will be vaccinated will have to go through screening to find out the vital signs and medical history and once they pass, the vaccination can continue.
He stressed that there is nothing to fear in receiving the vaccine as it is the most effective defense against COVID-19.
Simulation exercises are being conducted at various district hospitals in the province of Batangas to prepare for the ongoing roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines.
