BATANGAS - A total of 27 women from various barangays in the city received financial assistance from the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) in celebration of 2021 National Women’s Month on March 8.
The beneficiaries received an amount of P5,000 each to be used for their medical needs.
He also presented awards to five women’s groups including barangays Conde Labac, Tingga Itaas, Barangay 24, Bolbok and Talahib Pandayan for their solidarity and cooperation in implementing city government programs in their communities during the pandemic.
A holy mass was held yesterday morning in the Basilica of the Immaculada Conception attended by various groups of women.
The event was overseen by the City Social Welfare & Development Office (CSWDO).
Also in connection with the celebration, a virtual meeting was held in the afternoon with the participation of about 80 participants.
There was a virtual training for hand sanitizing where Susan Lascieras of the Home Extension Division of the Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services (OCVAS) shared the making of hand sanitizer that women can earn even if they are only at home.
Important information on women's laws and rights was discussed by CSWD Officer Mila Espanola where she emphasized the great help and support provided by Mayor Beverley Dimacuha in the programs implemented for the welfare and improvement of the condition of women.
The theme of this year’s Women’s Month celebration is “Juana Against Pandemia, Kaya!” .
