Batangas Medical Center frontliners, get vaccines against COVID-19

BATANGAS CITY - Medical frontliners at the Batangas Medical Center (BatMC) were vaccinated against COVID-19 on March 8 in a vaccination rollout at the said hospital led by the Department of Health-Center for Health Development. (DOH-CHD) CALABARZON Regional Director Dr. Eduardo Janairo.

BatMC Chief of Hospital Dr. Ramoncito Magnaye was first vaccinated, the first medical frontliner with co-morbidity at such a hospital.

In his message, Dr. Magnaye said he expressed the desire to be vaccinated first even with comorbidity because he also wanted to show that the vaccine against COVID-19 is effective and safe.

Dr. Janairo said that whatever type of vaccine comes or is given by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) is safe because it has gone through the thorough rule of experts. He said this is the visible answer to reduce and prevent infection with COVID 19 while continuing to adhere to the government's minimum health protocols.

According to Dr. Jade Javier, Chairman-Infection Prevention and Control Committee of BatMC, has no reason to be afraid to get vaccinated and encourages all eligible to get vaccinated as it is additional protection not only for oneself but for the whole community.

“Alam kong natatakot tayo, marami tayong mga tanong tungkol sa mga vaccine pero the first thing to do is to get the right information. Hindi kailangan matakot kung alam mo ang mga bakuna at kilala mo ang mga bakuna at dapat tama din ang nakukuha mong info tungkol sa mga ito”, said Javier.

Dr. emphasized. Amor Calayan, Director of Nursing BatMC that he is convinced that vaccination is a moral responsibility as a medical frontline health worker and leader of the nursing service.

Meanwhile, Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha encouraged all Batangeños to get vaccinated because it is for the benefit of not only one person but also every member of the family and community.

He said that even he is ready to get vaccinated in case their sector is given the opportunity to show confidence in it and also as an example to fellow Batangeños who are skeptical about vaccination.
