Some 100 entrepreneurs and key representatives of business firms attended the recent Voluntary Assessment and Payment Program (VAPP) webinar conducted by the Revenue District Office No. 33 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) which covers Intramuros, Ermita, Malate and Port Area in Manila.
The VAPP webinar project was spearheaded by RDO 33 Chief, Revenue District Officer (RDO) Jose Maria L. Hernandez and his deputy, Assistant RDO Gina S. Basilio, who are both lawyer-accountants.
They were assisted by their key officers who served as resource speakers, including Tax Assessment Group Supervisors Mr. Vasquez and Ronald Quinones, and Revenue Officers Alecson Urfilla and Jenny Judit.
RDO Hernandez said the webinar forms part of their tax awareness campaign designed to encourage business firms and other taxpayers to avail of their program.
The VAPP aims help the BIR to increase its tax collection and enable it to achieve its revenue target, and fund vital government programs and projects, especially those under the current Covid-19 pandemic.
The webinar tax assessment scope cover taxable year 2018.
