BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) approved two resolutions for the city's more precautionary and disaster preparedness during its first-quarter Virtual-Full Council meeting, February 23.
It was led by CDRRMC Chairperson, Mayor Beverley Dimacuha, and was attended by more than 50 members from public and private offices and agencies.
The meeting approved the Resolution of Response Committee re: Evacuation Protocol and Camp Management which aims to ensure the safety and security of the residents of Batangas City during disasters and catastrophes.
It also includes guidelines and safety measures in the city's acceptance of evacuees from other towns such as the strict implementation of health and safety protocols in evacuation centers.
The resolution emphasizes that the local government should have an earlier source of evacuees with the Batangas City government.
The council also approved the Resolution Requesting of the Department of Public Works and Highways for the Allocation of Fund for the Construction of Evacuation Center in barangay Dela Paz Pulot Aplaya.
It is an additional evacuation center to ensure that the affected residents in the coastal barangays have shelter in the event of a severe disaster.
Mayor Dimacuha thanked the council members for their continued cooperation and participation to ensure the safety of all.
"Magaling ang Batangas City DRRMC, may tunay na pagmamahal, pagmamalasakit at laging nariyan to meet, to plan, and to prepare, pero nais pa rin nating maging pinakamagaling para sa ating mga kababayan," Mayor Dimacuha said.
