TAYTAY, Rizal - On March 8, 2021, employees of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, led by Jenesis Eraa, GAD Focal Individual, wore purple shirts and facemask to express their support for International Women's Day and Women's Month.
The female employees who received the certification and chocolates were given a salute and appreciation.
The training was also conducted in the PENRO conference room to discuss “Stress Management”. Examples of proper methods of dealing with different types of stress and how to avoid it was shared.
Everyone is encouraged to continue such activities as a sign of supporting women’s capabilities.
On March 11, 2021, the DENR PENRO Rizal through its Manila Bay Site Coordinating Management Office headed by Manila Bay Rizal Focal Person - Engr. Marilyn B. Paunil conducted a Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA), regarding Vertical Gardening/Urban Gardening using recyclable materials as eco-planters and a detailed discussion on RA 9003 or also known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
The thirty (30) participants were from the households living beside the constructed perimeter fence along Boso-Boso River from Station 1-3 of Brgy. Pinugay, Baras Rizal. The perimeter fence, which aims to reduce the wastes being thrown in the river, will be the support system for the proposed establishment of a vertical garden.
To make this activity more exciting, the participants will be divided into 3 competing groups and will adopt approximately 182 meters of the perimeter fence to be planted with ornamental plants and vegetable plants. An incentive will be given to the best-established vertical garden. The mechanics of the contest will be finalized by the end of March 2021. At the end of the discussion, each participant was given vegetable seeds and flyers as a token.
Hopefully, through this activity, the residents along the Boso-Boso River will be more committed to the proper handling of their household wastes and in taking care of the river.
