LUCENA CITY - The education sector is one of the hardest hit by the pandemic caused by coronavirus disease or COVID-19. That is why the Lucena's education department has thought of an alternative way for children to learn with the new modality of learning being implemented.

DepEd Lucena recently launched Project 4B’s or better known as ‘Every Child Reads and Counts’. This is to help City students with their assignments under modular and online classes.

According to Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Hermogenes ‘Jimmy’ Panganiban, they are intensifying this project through an online platform where teachers can talk to children.

He said, this is called a tool subject that when children do not learn to read and count, it will be difficult in their other subjects, particularly those at the higher grade level.

In addition, they study whether children are learning even in their homes, so that they can make adjustments for them.

Because of this, Dr. Panganiban, was very happy. The danger of his knowing that through Project 4Bs many of the students in the City are learning to read and count nowadays without face-to-face classes.

SDS Jimmy Panganiban, on the other hand, conveyed that DepEd Lucena continues to work on programs to enable Lucena youth to learn and still have quality education in the face of today's global health crisis.
