CALAMBA CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) expects public confidence in the vaccine to increase further following successful vaccination in various cities in the Calabarzon region. On Wednesday, March 10th, Bacoor City will be included.
According to DOH Calabarzon Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo, the number of healthcare workers who want to be vaccinated as protection against COVID-19 is gradually increasing.
Based on DOH data, an estimated 1.5 million healthcare workers in the region are targeted to be vaccinated by the national government. Currently only 1,700 have been vaccinated since last week.
This is due to the availability of the supply of vaccines and the priority given to the COVID-19 Vaccination Facilities which need to be given priority due to exposure to infectious diseases.
Janairo clarified that some hospitals are just waiting for the arrival of the vaccine allocation to start providing vaccines to the medical frontliners who are on the master list.
He also urged the frontliners not to be afraid of the vaccine no matter what comes because the main purpose of the vaccine is to give resistance to infectious diseases to the body of the people who will be injected with it.
