The Department of Health CALABARZON today administered Covid-19 vaccines to health workers of the province of Quezon as it completed its last leg of vaccine roll-out in all five provinces.

The DOH allocated 1,686 doses of Sinovac vaccines for Quezon province.

It has been distributed to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena (1,461), Maria L. Eleazar General Hospital in Tagkawayan (71), and Claro M. Recto Memorial District Hospital in Infanta (154).

The ceremonial “Resbakuna, Kasangga ng BIDA” Covid-19 vaccination activity for health workers was held at the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City.

A total of 1,460 health workers at the QMC will be receiving the Sinovac vaccine.

“The demand for the vaccine has increased among health workers. It is safe to say that the fear of side effects and the controversy behind Sinovac outweighs the importance of self-preservation.

“Marami na sa ating mga health worker ang nabakunahan at nakita natin na walang reported incident ng anumang side effects sa kanila including sa isa nating chief of hospital na mayroon pang comorbidity. At mas importante ngayon na magkaroon ka ng panlaban sa virus na hindi mo nakikita kasya magantay ka at baka mahawaan ka pa,” Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated.

As of March 10, 2021, Quezon recorded a total of 7,360 COVID-19 cases, 6,944 recoveries, and 264 fatalities with 152 active cases.

Meanwhile, the province of Cavite also started its Covid-19 roll-out yesterday during a kick-off ceremony held at the Southern Luzon Regional Hospital.

A total of 2,200 health workers will be inoculated. The activity will be conducted in two mega vaccine hubs located in Bacoor Elementary School and Bacoor Coliseum.

Tagaytay Medical Center and Ospital ng Tagaytay will have their vaccination activity today targeting 541 medical workers in the City.
