BATANGAS CITY - There are 20 public schools in the city scheduled to be used as temporary quarantine or isolation facilities to address the facility shortage due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Batangas City pursuant to Mayor Beverley Dimacuha’s Executive Order on April 14.
These schools are identified by the COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT) in accordance with Department of Health (DOH) requirements.
It will be recalled that the city government has five Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMFs) where mild cases are taken.

Severe cases are taken to hospitals that are currently at full capacity in other towns and provinces.
At consecutive IMT meetings on April 13 and April 16, Mayor Dimacuha and Congressman Marvey Mariño ordered immediate action to curb the spread of the virus and resolve other problems and needs related to the rising number of positive cases. COVID-19.
They ordered that the budget be prepared to hire additional medical workers/personnel, purchase medicines, medical equipment, PPE’s and other necessary equipment to further strengthen the city government’s COVID-19 response programs.
They also ordered a more stringent information dissemination campaign and stricter monitoring of health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
Mayor Dimacuha and Congressman Marino asked leaders of various religious denominations to conduct online spiritual and mental healing to COVID-19 patients and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSDWO) to have psychosocial debfriefing with them in preparation for their return to the community.
