BATANGAS CITY - In a virtual session on April 6, the City Council recognized former Batangas City Mayor Eduardo B. Dimacuha's achievements and excellent leadership during his term in office.

Resolution No. 91 S. 2021 entitled “Mourning the Loss of a Great Leader” was authored by all councilors. It lists the programs implemented by Dimacuha during his term.

Some of these programs have become a 'blue print' for other cities and municipalities to emulate such as the Barangay Action Outreach Program, EBD health card, a scholarship program for the youth, TESDA apprenticeship program, welfare programs for senior citizens, solo parents, and street children, protection and conservation of the environment, yellow corn propagation, livestock dispersal program, cooperative development in the rural barangays, availment of foreign grants and establishment of sisterhood programs, and many more developmental programs for the city.

According to the resolution, during Dimacuha's time, the common people also became close to the government.

There was unity among the city government employees and the view of them and the barangay officials increased because of the appreciation shown to them by Dimacuha.

Dimacuha was also introduced as a protector of nature. According to a resolution, “A staunch defender of the environment, Mayor Eddie ensured to strike a balance between industrialization and preservation of the City’s natural beauty and resources, that no material progress is more important than the healthy and safe habitat for the Batangueno.”

“There will never be enough words to describe the goodness of this man who have selflessly served and loved Batangas City; in his passing, the Batanguenos lost a strong pillar on whom the City in is very essence lay,” according to the resolution.

Dimacuha has been the mayor of Batangas City for the longest time. During his nearly 22-year term of office, the city has received numerous awards and recognitions, and it is known as the Most Powerful City because of the industries that thrive here.
