LUCBAN, Quezon - The Department of Health in Calabarzon, in collaboration with the Lucban Municipal Government, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the town's first public health facility.
The public health facility, which will be known as the Lucban Municipal Infirmary, will be funded by the health department with a Php30 million grant from the Health Facility Enhancement Program.
“We will include a Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) in the facility not only for the treatment and care of Covid patients but will cater also to other diseases,” Regional Eduardo C. Janairo stated.
“Napakaimportante ng primary care at dapat natin itong palakasin upang makapagbigay tayo ng sapat at tamang serbisyong kalusugan sa ating mga kababayan. With this facility, soon to serve the communities of Lucban, we can help individuals to navigate their journey to good health and stay healthy, preventing diseases in the community by identifying risk factors, coordinating with other health partners and managing chronic disease care for longevity and a better quality of life .. and this is the essence of Universal Health Care”.
According to Janairo, the facility could be converted into a tourism hospital in the future, as Lucban is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country, thanks to the annual Pahiyas Festival in May and the popular "lucban longganisa."
Construction of the health, the facility will begin immediately and to be completed in September of this year.
The regional office has already donated an ultrasound, ECG (electrocardiogram), x-ray machine, blood analyzer, and one dental bus.
The Lucban Municipal Infirmary is an LGU initiative to provide residents with access to public health care services.
