GEN. LUNA, Quezon - Gen. Luna mayor is proud of how his administration has handled public funds.

Mayor Matt Florido shared a document from the Commission on Audit (COA), which showed that under his leadership, there are zero disallowed expenses.

This shows that his administration uses the people’s money cleanly and properly, he said on his Facebook page.

Florido also said that the P2.8 million suspended and disallowed expenses mentioned in the COA document pertained to transactions of the previous administration.

Moreover, in February, all single and available employees of the local government of this town have a chance to “search for their forever,” a regular workday, by filing a leave of absence with pay, Florido said.

Living up to his moniker of “mayor with a heart” and to his town’s image of being the “heart” of Quezon’s Third District, Florido allowed all single employees “to have a me time for themselves” instead of the customary flowers and chocolates.

The municipal local government has 44 employees with single status, including widows, widowers and single parents.

The millennial mayor said his salary for February 15 will be utilized for their pay and no government fund will be used.

Florido said the single employees just need to file a leave of absence, and they can spend February 11 to “look for their forever.”

Being single himself, Florido added that he can relate to his employees and wants them to have “a shot at a decent love life.”
