PAGSANJAN, Laguna - Pagsanjan Mayor Peter Casius Trinidad has announced that the aid that will be distributed to constituents affected by the current enhanced community quarantine will be converted into 'cash.'
According to Mayor Trinidad, this is based on an agreement reached by local government officials and barangay chiefs at a meeting on Monday, April 5.
"Ngayon pong araw ay nagkaron tayo ng pagpupulong kasama ang ating mga Kapitan ng bawat Barangay at ang ating MSWD Officer Francisca Mondez kung saan napagkasunduan po na ang ayudang ipamamahagi mula sa Pamahalaang Nasyonal ay ibibigay ng cash," the mayor said.
The national government has allocated a total of P35,777,000 in aid to the town of Pagsanjan.
According to Mayor Trinidad, they are just waiting for it to reach the local government so that aid can be distributed.
The mayor also stated that an assessment team led by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office will be formed to assist in identifying potential beneficiaries of the aid.
According to the DILG-DBM-DND Joint Memorandum Circula No. 1, beneficiaries of the first and second tranches of the Social Amelioration Program, waitlisted in SAP, low-income earners, single parents, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities have priority in receiving assistance.
The mayor advised his constituents to simply await announcements from their local government regarding the distribution of cash financial aid. (with a report from FSC)
