ANGONO, Rizal - In a statement of the Angono, Rizal Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon on her official Facebook account last night, Sunday, April 4, said "We will begin the COVID-19 vaccination program this Tuesday, April 6 for our health workers in our Municipality. As advised, Mayors are eligible to receive the vaccine. With that, I am ready and willing to be vaccinated first to show my support to everyone that it is safe."
As of Sunday, April 4, there were 212 active cases and 20 recoveries and 14 new positives were recorded in Angono town.
There were 1,351 total infections since the pandemic - 1,089 of them were recovered, patients. There were 50 COVID-19 related deaths. Angono now has a population of about 120,000 people.
According to the Mayor, she was also informed that her compatriots are currently under home quarantine due to close contact or have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, but no food assistance has been provided by her office.
"Mahigit isang taon na po na tayo ay nagbibigay ng food assistance sa lahat ng naka home quarantine at ang sistema po upang mapadalhan ay ang lahat ng in charge na BHERT kada barangay ay inutusan ko na hingin ang listahan ng pangangailangan sa loob ng 7 araw o kaya naman ay sa loob ng 14 na araw. Kung hindi kaya ibigay ng barangay, ito ay ipapadala sa aking tanggapan upang agad na mabili at mapadala ang kanilang pangangailangang supplies." she said.
