TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - In preparation for the gradual re-opening of the tourism industry in the province, the provincial government thru the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), and the municipal government of Magallanes recently conducted training in Basic Tour Guiding for local tour guides on March 17-19, 2021.
The three-day training, participated by about 22 LGU recognized tour guides, aimed to equip local tour guides of Magallanes with proper knowledge, enhance their communication skills to boost their self-confidence in representing their locality's natural beauty and promote the different tourism sites.
Dr. Reynaldo Jorda, a Master Trainor and a licensed tour guide of the Department of Tourism served as the resource speaker. He gave pointers and taught basic practical skills from sharing historical facts, delivering commentaries, and understanding the visitors' behavior, needs, and expectations.
During the training, participants were provided with free meals, training kits, caps, and t-shirt that can use as uniforms in their tour guiding duties.
Magallanes Mayor Jasmin Bautista expressed gratitude for the provincial government's initiatives in helping local tour guides that would boost the tourism industry in the town.
The Municipality of Magallanes boasts of natural resources of lush green forest and clear fresh waterfalls which the LGU developed for its tourism destinations such as the Buhay Forest Eco Park in Barangay San Agustin and the Utod Falls in Barangay Tua.
These tourist destinations have drawn hundreds of adventurous, and nature-loving local tourists within the province, the NCR, and nearby provinces as well. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite with reports from PTCAO)
