TAYABAS CITY - To produce more vegetables, Quezon Province 1st District Representative Mark Enverga, Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and Food, launched a P20 million project for a "Vegetable Production, Consolidation, and Packaging House" with cold storage, hauling trucks, machinery, and agricultural supplies on April 16, 2021, in this city.

Rep. Enverga stated on Facebook that the million-dollar project was funded by the Bayanihan 2 law, which aims to support industrial sectors in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bayanihan 2 law, also known as the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act and officially designated as Republic Act No. 11494, is a Philippine law enacted in September 2020 that grants the President additional authority to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines.

“Biyayang umaapaw para sa mga maggugulay ng Lungsod ng Tayabas!" he said.

Rep. Enverga also donated seeds, fertilizer, gardening tools, plastic drums, plastic crates, knapsack sprayers, 12 pump engines, 2 multi tillers, and a greenhouse to the Kalipunan ng Samahan ng mga Magsasaka ng Prutas at Gulay ng Tayabas (KASAMA PGT).

KASAMA PGT is made up of associations from various barangays that have completed the project's training.

On March 19, Representative Enverga also provided a P 1.8 million Combine Harvester and a P 1.1 million Four Wheel Tractor to members and farmers of the Polillo Baadero - Libjo Agrarian Reform Community Multi Purpose Cooperative in Polilio, Quezon.

In addition, 300 sacks of fertilizer, corn seeds, prevention, and vegetable seeds were delivered.

He thanked Phil Mech and DA-RFO 4A for their support in running programs in the province's 1st District.
