ANGONO, Rizal - Jeri Mae Calderon, Mayor of Angono, received a Gold Award for the 2020 DILG Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program LGU Compliance Assessment.

The Manila Bay Awarding Ceremony was held on April 22, 2021 as part of the Manila Bay Day Celebration.

The recognition is based on proper solid waste management, liquid waste management, informal settler families, and the local government's information, education, and campaign materials.

The Department of Interior and Local Government, as well as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources recognized the achievement.

Mayor Jeri Mae thanked everyone who worked together to protect the environment and nature, including Busilak na May Puso, the ten Barangays, and every town resident.

Despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the DILG Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program prioritized providing assistance and support to LGUs in order for them to be able to continuously implement their mandates that contribute to the rehabilitation of the bay.

The MBCRPP remained undeterred in its efforts in not only cleaning-up, and protecting the waters of Manila Bay, but also in advocating for a holistic the approach in environmental management, and in the collective effort of the Department, and the LGUs to ensure the protection of the environment.
